You can admire the outlines of Sithonia, and in clear weather - Mount Athos. The territory, where Kallithea is located, has a long history. This is easy to see by visiting the ancient ruins near the beach.

 

The modern settlement appeared only at the beginning of the 20th century and was laid by Greek settlers from Asia Minor. Until this time, the territory of the village was the fiefdom of monks. Today Kallithea is a developed resort town where you can have fun, relax on clean beaches, make purchases and enjoy Greek cuisine.

The main attraction for tourists in Kallithea are the ruins of the ancient temple of Ammon Zeus. Archaeologists have established that even in the Bronze Age, people used this place to worship the gods. Later, at the time of the Romans, baths and an amphitheater were built near the temple. Ancient ruins managed to be found by chance - in the late 60s there was a discovery and discovery. Next to the ruins is a cave that was discovered a little bit later. It functioned as the sanctuary of Dionysos. The place was chosen by ancient people because of springs - water from them was taken for rites.

 

There are always a lot of tourists going to the observation platform of Kalifee. This is the place to watch the sunsets and the delights of those "beautiful views". There is a square and a church in honor of St. Nicholas near the observation deck. You can walk to the ancient Afitos for half an hour and even faster from Kalifee. It is known as the most beautiful city of Cassandra with no less picturesque views than in the Kalifaia. Many historical houses and churches have been preserved in Afitovo, and there is  one more interesting attraction to visit. It is an ethnographic museum.

 

Kallithea Beach

The coast of Kallithea, surrounded by green hills, pleases with clean soft sand and a fairly long coastline. There are sun loungers and several bars on the beach, water activities are available - this is one of the most equipped beaches in Halkidiki. In the high season, the coast of Kalifee is crowded, but on its outskirts you can find quiet and not so crowded corners. And the best part of the shore is its right side, where you can enjoy the most gentle entrance to the sea, there is no waves, only the cleanest sand.

 

The beach of Kallithea has a flaw that will seem significant to some tourists. The way to it lies along a steep road and takes about 7 minutes. You can stay in a hotel on the coast, but in this case you will have to climb to the center of Kalifee - to taverns and shops.

 

Entertainment and infrastructure in Kallithea
